Passiflora Villa
Passiflora Villa
Flora Natural Villas are in a preserved rice paddy of Penestanan. We designed our joglo, (100 yr reclaimed teak) to be in Touch with Nature. The bedroom closes for privacy but the living rm is delightfully open! We are off the beaten path & HARD TO FIND as there is no car access. We STRONGLY advise using our select drivers who know our location & will carry bags the 6 min. walk + 30 steps.
The space
Walk 6 minutes or ride a rented motorbike along a tropical river path. And then up 30 steps our antique joglo (traditional Javanese teak house). Passiflora is set in a rice paddy. which we have kept, partially intact. It is part of our commitment to this agricultural tradition. We are mindful about water shortages in Ubud. So we decided to add a shared salt water pool for our guests from the three houses. Often you will have it to yourself. Our neighborhood has no car noise, but many sounds of geckos, roosters, frogs and collared kingfisher birds, while still walking distance from Ubud (20 minutes).
As you walk into Passiflora, you’ll be taken by the spacious loft -like feeling (1000 sq. ft. /90 meters square) with the added visual pleasure of antique teak timber beams and carved wood panels. The roof is made of handwoven grass known as “alang-alang” here. We have combined traditional elements, but the sensibility is modern with an emphasis on comfort. There are no villas in Ubud quite as uniquely in touch with nature as Passiflora and Jazmin.
Read on the daybed on the verandah, have a conversation in the living room then have a nap in the bedroom on the king-sized super comfortable bed overlooking the family temple. The kitchen is perfect for cooking: polished concrete countertops and reclaimed wood cabinet doors. At night, the bedroom locks up for privacy and safety, but the living room stays open for maximum connection with nature. You can practice yoga comfortably in so many spots and later bathe under the stars in the sunken tub. Made and Made will pamper you with healthy breakfasts of Bali Buda bread, Bali Coffee and our homemade yogurt and jam. No breakfast would be complete without a plate of tropical fruit. I’ll leave you my list of my favorite secret spots and restaurants.

Bali
The island of Bali is located between the islands of Java and Lombok. It is surrounded by a couple of small neighboring islands, as Nusa Lembongan. Where you can just sit back and relax. The vivid blue of the clear waters surrounding the islands are perfect for Surfing, Scuba diving and Snorkeling. A magnificent scenery, away from hassle and traffic. Peaceful and beautiful.
Bali is the home of most of Indonesia’s Hindus, seeking Balance and Harmony. Which brings a particular spiritual tint to the island. Indonesia’s largest tourist destination is known for its highly developed Arts. Like Sculptures, Paintings, Metal working, Music, Traditional and Modern dance. Its famous for its Pristine Colorful Scuba Diving, it is part of the Coral Triangle, where the biodiversity is the highest in the world. 7 times more species can be found here, then in the entire Caribbean.
