Dance For Peace Festival

Once again, we danced for peace. September 2019 was the 15th edition of Dance For Peace Festival in Teluk Terima – a beautiful bay in Bali, just bordering West Bali’s National Park with tranquil waters, stunning mangroves, and healing surroundings! In our opinion, the ideal spot for a gathering and to celebrate life.

The Dance For Peace Festival took place 20-22 September 2019, and we enjoyed it fully. When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks, but even celebrate them with glad cries of “ME TOO!” – you have to be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe. And this festival was a gathering of magical people who came together to celebrate, heal, share and dance – in a space of love.

Our previous events have benefited the preservation of the environment within Nusa Lembongan Bali and also assisted in the partial funding of a new extension building at Yayasan Nuri Bali, which undertakes the care of drug addicts in greater Denpasar, Bali. This year we aim to use the proceeds to help fund projects within the festival region to help improve the lives of the less fortunate.

A tribute to a peaceful life

The first version of Dance for Peace Festival took place just after the tragic events happening in the 12th of November, 2002 in Kuta, Bali. ‘The Bali Bombing’ killed more than 200 people – tourists and locals – when two bombs ripped through the Kuta area of Bali. This traumatic experience left everyone living in Bali and the surrounding islands of Indonesia in weeks of mourning and prayers.

Just 3 weeks after this tragic event, the premier Dance For Peace event took place. This beautiful event was a tribute to a peaceful life and it gathered more than 200 people, who danced to proclaim their desire for peace. This magical event signaled the beginning of a healing process within themselves, and it was a new beginning to the people who experienced or heard about the tragic events. Today, the 15th edition of Dance For Peace Festival was held – And we can’t express our gratitude enough. Thank you to the amazing facilitators and crew of this awesome event. It’s pure magic!

A Magical Experience

Dance For Peace is not only a dance event – it’s also a camping event, where it’s possible to sleep underneath the shining stars or stay over in guesthouses nearby the location. The event has food stalls, ethnic bazaars, and other relevant workshops to share life’s wisdom.

Can you imagine? Gong sound meditation, Yoga Nidra, Epic DJ’S, Tea tasting, and Fire Dancing – on the beach in a space of love, healing, sharing, caring, and dancing. We have no words to describe what a magical feeling this event left us with. With psychedelic dance music, this festival is dedicated to raise awareness of peace, and celebrating love & life!

Bringing people together to co-create a transformative experience through music, art and dance. It also aims to raise funds for organizations working towards creating a better and peaceful society.

Our venues are always carefully selected and are located within stunning natural dreamscapes. Dance For Peace today continues to cultivate a following of people who faithfully look forward to our events. It is our intention to build up this festival and to achieve this via more extensive promotions, bigger venues, bigger named artists, better quality production and more diverse entertainment. All this while maintaining our core aim to inspire people to a life of compassion and peace.”
