The Scuba Diving is some of the best in the World. Lombok is located in the Coral Triangle. Where the biodiversity underwater, is the highest, worldwide. 50% more species are discovered here then in the Red Sea. Lombok's "mainland" is well- known amongst surfers for Bangko- Bangko. Desert Point has been rated numerous times as one of the best surf barrels in the World.

Culture and history info

The culture and history of the Sasak people. Culturally and linguistically, they are closely related to the Balinese. The majority practice Muslim faith and traditions, unlike the Hindu Balinese. Islam was first brought to Lombok by traders from Sumbawa.Before the Islam arrived, Lombok knew a long period of Hindu and Buddhist influence. Even today, Balinese Hindu culture remains strong, but in minority.The Dutch colonial government reinstated the Sasak rules, after the Balinese occupation. Some Chinese ethnicity and Indonesians from East Nusa Tengara practice Christianity in Lombok. To seek good fortune, traditional magic is practised.Have you ever heard of the Wallace Line?
